School Pictures and Dance this week.

Our fall school pictures will be taken on Tuesday, August 21st.  Also, our Back to School Dance will be held on Friday, August 24th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Information on these two events was sent home last Friday. 

Parent Volunteer Training Cancelled

Our parent training for Tuesday evening is cancelled and will be rescheduled as soon as possible.  This week we have our Fundraiser Kickoff on Thursday afternoon.  Please check your child's book bag for information.  Don't forget that next week we have school pictures on Tuesday, August 21st, and the BGE Back to School Dance on Friday, August 24th... info will be sent home. Please feel free to call me if you have any concerns.

Week 2....

We had a great first week of school!  Several things will be coming up this week.  On Tuesday, August 14th, from 5:00 -5:30 p.m., we will hold our Volunteer Training Workshop. Due to changing BOE policy, any parent wanting to volunteer in our schools should attend this training.  We will schedule an additional day if necessary.  Hope to see you on Tuesday.
On Thursday, August 16th, we will begin our first fundraiser.  It will be the Charleston Wrap and Gifts like last year.  Because of your wonderful participation, we earned over $2,000 to help supplement the activities we provide for our families.  Thanks in advance for your help.  Your children will bring the information home on Thursday.

The First Day of School

I want to thank our parents for being so patient with our new drop off and pick up lane.  Remember that we always want our students to be safe and the new procedure allows an open lane for emergency vehicles when necessary. We will be going back to dismissing walkers first before moving any parent pickup cars. I think this will work out better, thank you for your suggestions. I also know how worried some of you were when your children did not get home on time.  Hopefully, all that is resolved.  One of the issues today was a route (#58) that was divided between two other routes (#59 and #61), which caused a lot of worry and confusion. I think we can safely say that those issues will be taken care of tomorrow. Please call me at 912-368-2003 if you have any comments or concerns.  Thank you for sharing your children with us!  We will do our very best to educate them and keep them safe.

Open House

What an eventful Open House!  We had construction vehicles outside, hard hats, and halls decorated with tools and anything construction!  We have the greatest staff, students, and parents at BGE and this showed when they were asked to sit in the hallway for about 45 minutes during the tornado watch.  Everyone cooperated with the directives from the BOE and hopefully everyone arrived home safely.  I am looking forward to seeing all the students back on Monday!
